Director and Solicitor
Graeme Hughes is a Solicitor and Director of Hughes Jenkins Solicitors. Graeme, who was educated at the University of Leicester and the Chester College of Law, co-founded the firm with Nigel Jenkins in September 2002 and has been integral in developing the business to the size it is today.As an active member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers,Graeme has acted for clients in all type of claim from simple road traffic accidents to complex high value claims against the Government. Described as "a real fighter for his clients" Graeme always does his best to get the best result in every case. In his spare time Graeme is a keen cricketer and is active in the youth development side of the game.
Director and Solicitor
A graduate of Cardiff University and the College of Law, Guildford, Nigel founded Hughes Jenkins Solicitors with Graeme Hughes and has since overseen the growth of the firm to its current size and geographical spread. In addition to his role as finance Director, Nigel is also the firm’s Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP).Nigel heads up the Family and Children Law department at Hughes Jenkins Solicitors and assists clients in matters of divorce, matrimonial finances, contact and many other aspects of family and child law. He also has vast experience in personal injury matters. A keen sailor, Nigel enjoys time out on the water in his Laser dinghy and the occasional foray further afield. He is also a qualified hockey coach and has been involved with the running of youth teams at Gwent Hockey Club. In the past Nigel has run a number of half marathons and has recently been persuaded to start running again.
Director and Practice Manager
As Practice Manager Dewi is responsible for the smooth running of the firm. He is also the firms Compliance Office for Finance & Administration (COFA) and as such manages the financial operations of the firm.Dewi, from Ton Pentre, joined Hughes Jenkins Solicitors in February 2016 from a Bridgend based firm, where he had also been the COFA, and has been working in legal accounting roles since 2009. Dewi became a Director in April 2017. Outside of work Dewi enjoys keeping fit and ran his first half marathon in October 2015, raising money for a local charity. Clearly enjoying the experience, he entered his second half marathon at the IAAF World Championships held in Cardiff in March 2016 and is now looking to do more distance runs in future. In addition to this he also enjoys live music, festivals and travel.
Head of Wills and Probate Department
Emily is a Solicitor and Head of our Wills and Probate Department. Emily specialises in elderly client matters such as advising client’s on Lasting Power of Attorney, Court of Protection matters, Wills and also Estate Administration.Emily, from Caerphilly, completed her Law degree and the Legal Practice course at Cardiff University and has a variety of experience from working in small and medium sized high street practices in South Wales. Emily joined Hughes Jenkins Solicitors in August 2015 from a Bridgend based firm. Outside of work Emily enjoys keeping fit and regularly attends the gym. Emily ran her first half marathon in March 2016 and is looking forward to taking part in future marathons. Emily also enjoys dining out and travelling.
Head of Conveyancing
Eve is the Head of Conveyancing for both our Aberdare and Blackwood offices and has been with Hughes Jenkins Solicitors since September 2014. A fully qualified Legal Executive, Eve deals with a wide variety of transactions and manages the whole conveyancing process.Eve lives locally to Aberdare but is originally from South East England. Eve has lived in the Valleys for over ten years and, prior to joining the firm, worked for legal practices in both the Valleys and Cardiff. Outside of work Eve likes to watch films and relax with her family.
